About Our Client

A well-established Irish manufacturing company specialising in precision metalwork and fabrication is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join their skilled production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tradesperson to work on diverse projects in a modern facility.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and arc welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium materials
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Fabricate metal components and assemblies to precise tolerances
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Prepare and set up welding equipment and materials
  • Carry out grinding, cutting, and finishing work as required
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure safe working practices
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams
  • Complete quality control checks and maintain accurate production records

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Welding (City & Guilds, FETAC Level 6, or equivalent trade certification)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding
  • Proven ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • Experience welding various metals including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good timekeeping and reliability

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with robotic welding systems
  • Coded welder certification to EN ISO 9606 or AWS standards
  • Experience in heavy fabrication or structural steelwork
  • Forklift licence or willingness to obtain
  • Manual handling and Safe Pass certification
